Nathan S. Ancel was the co-founder of the Ethan Allen furniture stores chain. He and his partner pioneered the idea of the showcase style settings for selling furniture, and that, coupled with the high quality of the products they sold, rocketed them to the top of the industry. He also, with a gift of nearly a million dollars, helped establish the Ansell School of Business in Connecticut. In the eighties, he even taught at that school. He is buried in the Sharon Gardens Cemetery in New York, plot Section Temple Israel White Plains, Lot 12 GPS: 41.08491 -73.78925.
