Peter Cooper Hewitt was an inventor. His inventions are the direct ancestors of many types of modern light. Places like the Murray Feiss stores couldn’t even exist without his inventions! His patent on arc lighting started it all. As a side note, he is also the brother of the famous Erskine Hewitt. Peter Cooper Hewitt is buried in Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, New York. He is in a plot in Section 97, Lot 3932.
