Blogging Makes Me HAPPY!

May 21st, 2008

happy1.gif

This is a little off topic, but it is something I feel strongly about. A lot is being said these days, in the newspapers and television media, about new studies that show blogging to be an addiction… which, I suppose, means that someone, somewhere, is trying to liken it to alcoholism or drug abuse. It’s amazing to me how many things these days are being labled either as a condition, addiction, or syndrome. Well… I don’t do drugs and I don’t get drunk. But I have no intention of giving up my blogging addiction. Why?

Simply put, blogging makes me happy. It gives me a voice I would not otherwise have. As you will see in the following video, I have a tendency to get in a little trouble too, but nothing I can’t handle.

Personally, I have never had a problem separating blogging from “real life”. One thing about it, though, it IS enjoyable. Take this blog, for example. Weirdinter.net exists because, nowhere, and I looked hard, NOWHERE could I find a site that covered all the things this one does, while staying with things that fit the theme.

The following video is all original footage (and original animation). It caused me to break a personal record as well. I had made it this far in life managing to NEVER use any current footage or photos of my gray haired, toothless old self… so, those of you who were wondering who could possibly be twisted enough to put together this blog, this may be your only chance to find out! I hope you enjoy the video.

The Monster in Loch Ness

March 11th, 2008

Actually, “monster” is probably a bad word for the creature. That it exists, or did exist as late as the seventies, is proven. There are numerous unretouched photos, sonar images, even a home video that has been authenticated. The creature has been seen even OUT of the Loch, crossing the road. Witnesses say the creature moves along the ground rather like a large snail. But what is this creature? Evidence suggests that the creature is a holdover, probably a form of deep water dwelling dinosaur. Either the creature is the last of it’s kind and is extremely long lived, or it is a family. There is evidence that it splits it’s time between the loch and the ocean, as well.

An interesting side note… a much less famous creature reported to be identical to the Loch Ness Monster has been documented many times in Arkansas. The White River Monster, as it is called, has been given protected grounds by the state, and in Arkansas it is a punishable crime to do damage to the creature.

Financing Grave Hunting

March 7th, 2008

I know this may seem like an off topic post, but it’s really not. Ghost and Grave Hunters are pretty fanatical about their collections, and will do almost anything to get that perfect gravesite photo, or have that one unforgettable haunting experience. And in some cases, a LOT of cases, that even extends to refinancing their home, if the trip they are wanting to take is important enough to them. Mortgages are becoming a favorite way for the dedicated to finance their travels. I suppose they are thinking that if they wait till they have the money to do the traveling, the opportunity may no longer be there, which, in many cases, may very well be true. However, to be able to go on that special trip may not be worth risking your home, especially if you are adding not just a mortgage but a SECOND mortgage. Think about it… what good is a collection of great grave shots if you have to stash them in your car trunk because you lost your house? I am of the opinion that sense should in fact override sentiment at least SOME of the time! And if you MUST borrow, do not overfinance. Whatever you borrow, you are going to be paying interest on for years to come.

The BEST Way to get a CUSTOM BUILT PC!

March 7th, 2008

You know, one of the things that has always irritated me is how it is impossible to get exactly what you need when you buy a computer. I always thought that if I were even remotely knowledgeable about electronics, I would like to be able to build one myself, and make sure it had exactly what I wanted. Un fortunately, I have never been good at that sort of thing, so I figured it would never happen.

I was WRONG. Just when I thought I was forever doomed to have to settle for what the prepackaged market has to offer, along came a company called PC Kits . They offer Do It Yourself kits that come with instructions that you don’t have to be a tech to understand, and the only thing you need to do the assembly is a screwdriver! These instructions have LOTS of pictures, so that even I couldn’t mess it up without really trying! I can’t even program my DVD Player, but I could do THIS! It saved me a WHOLE lot of money, too. You really need to check this place out. The address is http://www.easyasmypc.com. You aren’t going to BELIEVE how cheap and easy this is! If I can do it, ANYONE can!

Psst… wanna know a secret?

February 27th, 2008

Hey, people, just taking a detour from the regular fare here on the weird end of the internet to tell you about a great place to get high quality business cards online. I just finished making a set, and they have a really different editor that lets you do all the logo design yourself, so you can be sure you get exactly what you want! Their free demo designer lets you play with it until you get things just as you want them. It’s easy, the finished product is high quality and low priced, and it’s fun. What more could you ask for?

Cher… time to check out a LIVING legend!

January 22nd, 2008

On this blog, we deal mostly with the departed. But sometimes it’s better to see a celebrity BEFORE they become a ghost, and it is going to get REALLY easy to find Cher when her show opens in Vegas!

Cher, through her many changes, has been around for my entire life. As a child, I watched “The Sonny and Cher Show”. Actually, I kind of freaked when Sonny Bono asked for a divorce on live television… never quite liked him much ever since. Does anyone remember Cher’s movie, “Mask”? I think I wore out the theater seats seeing that one so often. Her music has always moved with the times. Remember “Halfbreed”? I wore out TWO records listening to that song. Thankfully, CDs are much more lasting! If nothing else, Cher has always managed to create controversy wherever she goes. I can’t say that I would like to run right out and hire her clothing designer, but her music and personality have made me laugh and cry over the years.

Sometime in May of this year, when Celine Dion’s show finishes it’s run, Caesar’s Palace will be the stage for Cher’s newest show. It will be interesting to see what she has decided to do now! You can bet fans will be lining up around the block to buy Cher tickets at Ceasar’s Palace. Hmmm. Might be a better idea to buy them online. In any case, I’ll see you there!

Making Beautiful Music!

January 2nd, 2008

I know ghost hunting is everyone’s objective here, but what do you do with your time between hunts? I have several hobbies, myself, and have always enjoyed having the ability to create music. It may not be GREAT music, but it’s mine. I bet there are a lot of people out there who would LOVE to learn to create their own music but either can’t spare the time for formal lessons, or can’t afford them. Well, I’ve got great news. Now you can get FREE Piano lessons & piano chords delivered to your email inbox, about every five days or so, free of charge. It’s a 101 lesson plan that teaches you all that you really need to know to make your own music on the piano. While they DO have DVDs with lessons available for sale, there is no pressure to buy ANYTHING, not now, not ever! All you have to do is click the link and sign up for your lessons, then learn when you want to, on your own schedule! Is that great, or what?

Christmas in Merry Olde England

December 25th, 2007

Here’s hoping your holiday is going well! I did find a bit of trvia that affects some of our overseas readers today…. In Britain, the Holy Days and Fasting Days Act of 1551, which has not yet been repealed, states that every citizen must attend a Christian church service on Christmas Day, and must not use any kind of vehicle to get to the service. Now, I am not very familiar with what actually goes on in Britain… wonder if anyone still obeys this law?:) Merry Christmas, folks!
